Remarried?
This testimony brings about an often overlooked question: “What if the custodial parent remarries, doesn’t that income count for anything?” Apparently not! Does anyone else find this situation appalling?
“I believe that reform needs to take place because it is unjust that the non-custodial parent is the only responsible one. The NCP is the one that is made to work to support his ex, their children together and the new family. Often times the custodial parent will voluntarily not work which means they are not contributing to the well being of the children. If the CP is not working and is re-married the new spouses income should be taken into account. Being married is apparently their job and that’s how they are providing the support for the children. Please sign this petition so equality can be given.”
