U.S. Census Support Custody Arrangements

Social Services is a much needed program within our society. Their purpose is to help the unfortunate, provide employment opportunities, food assistance, rent, electric, medical bills, and retirement income, in short, the basic needs to survive. Each and every one of us, male and female, pay into these services through taxes and the social security fund. One could logically conclude that services are granted equally between the genders, and one would be wrong.

If you look at the many services available, some are tailored specifically to the female portion of society. Take for instance WIC (Women Infants and Child food assistance) and Medicaid for Pregnant Women. There are other family type benefits available such as Medicaid for Infants and Children and Daycare assistance.

However, if we look at that US Census Data from 2004 we will find that about 80% of all custody arrangements award the female with Sole physical and legal custody. About 15% is joint shared custody, and a scant 5% awards the male sole custody. Throw out the joint/shared and you have about 95% Mothers, 5% Fathers with sole custody.

U.S. CENSUS Support Custody Arrangements WAVE 5 2004

So, if we take into account that all the family type social services only apply to the Custodial parent, then one can conclude based upon these statistics that 95% of these services are awarded to the Mother (the joint shared custody is negated as both parents typically fail to meet eligibility requirements), and only 5% are awarded to Fathers. And if that’s not enough, look at the irony this way. Child Support Enforcement (a Social Services program) awards child support based upon these statistics 95% of the time to the Mother.

So Fathers, you are immediately paying for your child out of pocket from taxed income and in addition you pay for the overwhelmingly female recipients of Social services (95%) through income tax. You also have no dependant tax deductions for the child you are paying to support.

In most cases the non custodial parent (Father (95%)) is ordered to maintain health insurance for the child(ren). But wait, aren’t you eligible for Medicaid for Infants and Children? Sadly no, for the reason that you’re not the custodial parent even though your INCOME may meet eligibility requirements and your are paying 100% of the health care premium costs (darn!). But wait, aren’t you eligible for Daycare assistance, after all, you are paying for ½ of the costs for daycare? Sadly no, for the reason that you are not the custodial parent even though your INCOME may meet eligibility requirements and you both are working and need daycare. How about WIC to help with food for the children? Well, it is WOMEN Infants and Children. We do have one hope, and that is food stamps. Yes, the irony is CSE takes away enough money each pay period to allow you to receive food stamps if your income is low enough (if it’s not, don’t’ worry CSE will reevaluate your obligation).

So the big picture is that between two parents Mothers 95% of the time receive tax free child support from the Father, free medical care paid for by the Father, daycare assistance, dependant child tax deductions and earned income credit.

What do 95% of the Fathers get? NOTHING… You have no say in where you child goes to school, any medical decisions or living location. You get basically nothing in visitation with your child. You cannot change careers or move closer to your child due to the CSE holding your support obligations constant. If you have arrears they will garnish your Social Security retirement checks. The one thing we MAY get is food stamps, after all, you always throw a bone to an old dog to keep them hanging around.

Please take a moment and SIGN for Child Support Reform. You do not have to be directly involved in the Child Support System to Sign this Petition. Yet, we are all apart of the System; if someones’ U.S. Constitutional Rights are being violated, you are being violated. How much more Government interference are you able to put up with? Presently, the Children are always the losers; relationships are being ruined, thousands go to jail and thousands commit suicide each year! PLEASE USE THE COMMENT FORM TO SIGN LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE; Thank You!

About The Author

My name is James (Jim) DeLelys. I have been involved in the Child Support System for nearly 16 years. Over those years I have acquainted myself with countless individuals who have had to bear the burden of a terribly broken and corrupt sytem. It is through 'listening' that I have come to the enevitable conclusion that Child Support Laws and Government interference can not be tolerated anymore.

My family and I are victims of this terrible organization

Not to mention the Title IV-D scam. For every Father paying $800/month in child support, US States receive $800 in federal money that is then used to replenish welfare and low income assistance programs.

  4. I am hoping for a just system. My ex-wife is living off child support. I am sucker #2.

  5. I’m nearly 70 years old and have NOTHING after all these years. My Social security is being garnished, my Driver’s License is Suspended, and I’m unable to work or even obtain a Passport. What a way to live out the end of your life.

We have a government that is OUT OF CONTROL!
